Gary Gray) features an exciting cast consisting of Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Kumail Nanjiani, Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson—but even with an all-star cast, the movie seems to only generate audience laughter from the well-timed jokes made (mostly) by Nanjiani’s alien character Pawny.

I’m sorry Tobey Maguire, and I’m sorry Tom Holland, but this animated Spider-Man movie tops all the live action versions that I’ve seen so far—I won’t apologise to Andrew Garfield because his versions are pure trash. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018, directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman) is refreshing as its protagonist is no longer Peter Parker (Chris Pine and Jake Johnson), but instead it focuses on a teenage boy called Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who is struggling to learn about his powers and cope with the responsibility of being the new Spider-Man.
